Vaughan Williams Festival 2008
11, 12 & 13 July
Many of you will remember the Finzi Weekend Festival we staged in 2001. To celebrate the life of Ralph Vaughan Williams, who died in 1958, we are staging a second such Festival in Kendal and Cartmel. It promises to be an exciting musical weekend with many superb performances.

Midday lecture by James Day of the RVW Society, with buffet lunch in the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal
Afternoon open rehearsal of the Choral and Orchestral Concert. Or guided walk round Kendal led by
members of the Civic Society
Early evening pre-concert talk by James Day of the RVW Society in Kirkland Hall, Kendal
Evening Festival Choral and Orchestral Concert in Kendal Parish Church featuring Vaughan Williams'

From Beethoven's Missa Solemnis in 2000 to Berlioz' Messe Solennelle in 2007, taking in a Finzi Centenary weekend, Orff's Carmina Burana and Britten's War Requiem along the way, CCI has organised a variety of large scale musical events over the last few years.
