Cumbria Choral Initiative is affiliated to Making Music, which represents and supports amateur performing and promoting societies throughout the UK.

Cumbria Choral Initiative is a group of people who are committed to developing the rich heritage of one of England's and Cumbria's finest traditions: CHORAL SINGING. CCI initiates projects which help to maintain choral singing in Cumbria in a healthy and vibrant state.
Our aims are:
to encourage young people to take up or continue choral singing both at school and when they have left to provide a platform for young soloists and instrumentalists to perform in choral works.
to extend the repertoire and introduce to audiences and singers some of the many fine new or neglected choral works.
to encourage new ways of presenting choral music so that it is more accessible and audience friendly.
to seek new audiences for choral concerts in the area particularly by encouraging young people to buy tickets.
